Inside Molly's
Just entering into Molly's is an experience in itself! Molly
has done her best to create a pub that reflects the best traditions of the
Irish drinking emporium.
Have a seat
Her tables follow the old Irish tradition of making pub tables out of other
pieces of furniture that had ceased to be useful - a trick used by many an
Irish landlord in the past when things were a bit tight. So if you look closely
you'll see an old table made from an antique bed, one from a chopping block,
another from a washing board and two made from old Singer sowing machines!
Molly's Bric-a-Brac
If you have a moment to yourself, it is also worth while taking a quick gander
around the pub as Molly has tried to show a little bit of Irish tradition through
various pictures and knick-knacks - you can see a copy of the Irish declaration
of independence, photos of the first Irish parliament, photos of the leaders
of the Easter rising, maps of Ireland and the British Isles, pictures of Michal
Collins, along with various pictures of Irish life from the 1800 and 1900s.
There is also wonderful bric-a-brac that reflects everyday life in Ireland
over the last two centuries ... it's a real walk to memory lane and one not
to be missed!
